I love to bake and cook and create my own recipes. I've known dozens of amazing home cooks, professional chefs and bakers who have all helped me to understand how much cooking is as much a science as it is an art.
Many of the recipes you will find here hold special memories for me and others are treasured favorites from friends and chefs I've come to know. You'll notice that there is a good bit of European and Southern US influence in my collection.
My Grandmothers were wonderful cooks, and so are my Mother and Aunts, and they all were heavily influenced by our Russian Jewish roots.. My Father grew up in South Philadelphia, which is known as Little Italy, hence my love of Italian food. And, for one-half of my life I've lived in the Southern US, and I've grown to love so much about the cuisine that is unique to the region.
